How to Write an Essay on How You Spent Your Summer Vacation

Last Updated: January 4, 2020

This article was co-authored by Alexander Peterman, MA . Alexander Peterman is a Private Tutor in Florida. He received his MA in Education from the University of Florida in 2017. This article has been viewed 51,817 times.

Writing an essay on how you spent your summer vacation is a classic way of starting a new school year. Think about this essay as an opportunity to tell a story about your summer while reflecting on the experiences you had. Choose a memorable moment you had this summer and start crafting your essay, giving as many details as possible.

Choosing a Topic

Step 1 Look back on mementos you kept from the summer.

  • These can also make nice visual aids if you are asked to present your essay.

Step 2 Make a list of the things you’ve done over summer vacation.

  • A list might be full of things like babysitting, attending a camp, working at a local store, taking a road trip, etc. This type of brainstorming can help you pick major events and other important moments from your summer.

Step 3 Write about a memorable moment.

  • For example, maybe you spent your summer traveling around Japan. Think of a memorable moment you had while traveling — maybe you walked up a mountain in the pouring rain — and write about this moment, adding lots of details.

Step 4 Create an outline...

  • For example, if you're writing about spending time at the beach, your outline could remind you to talk about the sandcastle building contest you entered, the dolphins you saw, and the ice cream you ate every day.
  • Details might be what the other sandcastles looked like, how far away the dolphins were, and what kind of toppings were on your ice cream.
  • Your outline is just to help you organize your thoughts — it can be written by hand or typed.

Crafting the Essay

Step 1 Focus on your feelings, interactions, and thoughts.

  • Instead of saying that you worked in a pet store, ate a PB&J sandwich, and walked home every day, talk about more than just your actions. You could talk about which pets are your favorites to work with, how it felt to eat the same sandwich every day, or what you thought about on your walk home.

Step 2 Use your 5 senses to explain your experiences.

  • Using sensory details like these will help your readers visualize and engage with your writing. These help your audience make your experiences feel real to them, even though they weren't there.

Step 3 Describe activities you did in each place you went.

  • For example, instead of saying “I went to the beach this summer,” try saying “I spent my summer swimming in the frigid water at Virginia Beach.” The more details you can provide, the more engaged your reader will be.

Step 4 Choose precise, descriptive adjectives.

  • Instead of saying “the burger was really good,” you could say, “the burger was juicy and filling.”

Step 5 Revise and edit your essay carefully.

  • Don't just rely on spellcheck. It will help catch some errors, but it will miss some things, too.
  • Ask a parent or other adult to read over your essay too, if you'd like.
  • Setting your essay aside for a little while will give you a fresher perspective when you go back to revise it.

Structuring Your Essay

Step 1 Start with a strong introduction.

  • Make sure your conclusion doesn’t just copy the introduction.

This summer was amazing.  I went to my grandma’s house in the countryside. It was so beautiful with lots of green trees and colorful flowers. Every morning, I helped Grandma in her garden. We planted new flowers and watered the plants. I learned how to grow vegetables too. In the afternoons, I played outside with my new friends. We ran around in the fields, flew kites, and even went fishing in the nearby stream. The fish were slippery but catching them was exciting. Grandma taught me how to bake cookies and we shared them with our neighbors. At night, I looked at the stars and listened to Grandma’s stories. She told me about adventures from when she was young. This summer, I didn’t just play; I made wonderful memories and learned new things. It was a summer I’ll always remember.

This summer was an adventure like no other.  I joined a summer camp where we did so many exciting things. Every day was a new adventure. We started with nature walks in the forest nearby. I saw different kinds of birds and learned about trees. We even had a treasure hunt, which was super thrilling! We had to follow clues to find the hidden treasure. I felt like a real explorer.

We also had art and craft days at the camp. I made a colorful kite and a pretty picture frame with shells and pebbles. It was fun getting messy with paint and glue. One of the best parts was the storytelling sessions under the big old tree. We would sit in a circle, and the camp leader told us fascinating stories from around the world.

On the last day of camp, we had a small party. We sang songs, danced, and ate lots of tasty snacks. I made so many friends at summer camp. We promised to write to each other and share our adventures even after summer ended.

This summer taught me to try new things, be brave, and make friends. It was full of laughter, learning, and lots of fun. I can’t wait to see what next summer brings!

Essay on How I Spent My Summer Vacation 300 Words

This summer was a journey of discovery and making new friends that I’ll never forget. It all started when I decided to join a local community project aimed at beautifying our neighborhood park. The project was not just about planting trees and flowers, but also about bringing the community together.

Each morning, we gathered at the park, armed with gardening tools and buckets of colorful paint. Our mission was to transform the old park into a vibrant space for everyone to enjoy. We started by cleaning up the litter, which taught me the importance of taking care of our environment. Planting new trees and flowers made me feel like I was contributing to something bigger than myself. It was amazing to see how a small seed could grow into a beautiful plant.

The most exciting part of the project was painting a mural on the park’s wall. We brainstormed ideas and decided on a theme that represented unity and diversity. Everyone contributed their artistic skills, and I was amazed at how our individual pieces came together to form a stunning masterpiece.

Through this project, I made friends with kids from different schools and backgrounds. We shared stories, laughed, and worked together towards a common goal. The sense of community was strong, and it was heartwarming to see how our hard work made a difference in the neighborhood.

As the project came to an end, I realized that this summer vacation was about more than just having fun. It was about learning new skills, making a positive impact, and building friendships that would last a lifetime. This summer taught me that even small actions can create big changes, and I’m proud to have been a part of this amazing journey.

Essay on How I Spent My Summer Vacation 400 + Words

Introduction: summer prelude.

Summer has always been a beacon of freedom, a time when the regular routines of school and work pause, giving way to endless possibilities.

This past summer promised to be an unforgettable chapter in my life, filled with the anticipation of new adventures and experiences. As the days grew longer and the air warmer, I found myself dreaming of distant lands, eager to embark on a journey that would not only refresh my spirit but also expand my horizons.

The thought of exploring unknown places, meeting new people, and making memories filled me with excitement. Summer was not just a season; it was a promise of adventure, relaxation, and discovery.

Planning: Vacation Blueprint

The journey to an unforgettable summer vacation started with careful planning. First, I had to pick a place that had it all: adventure, culture, and chill vibes. After looking around, I chose Bali. It’s famous for its stunning views and rich culture.

Next up, making a plan that mixes fun outings with chill time. I looked up travel blogs, asked on forums, and chatted with friends who’d been to Bali. They gave me some great tips.

Then, it was time to think about money. I made sure I had enough for important stuff like where I’d stay and how I’d get around. But I also saved some for cool experiences and unexpected finds. Planning was a big task, but it set the stage for a summer trip I’d never forget.

Destination: Bali Highlights

The heart of my summer adventure was Bali, a place where bright blue skies meet stunning views all around. Bali is more than just a spot on the map; it’s a burst of nature, history, and lively spots all in one.

I found myself on peaceful beaches that go on forever and explored old ruins that tell stories from long ago. Every spot in Bali was a new surprise. The big moment was seeing the Tanah Lot Temple, a sight that shows off Bali’s deep history and amazing designs.

Wandering through the Ubud Market, I was surrounded by a mix of colors, scents, and sounds. Each stall had a little bit of Bali’s heart to share. Whether it was watching the sunset at Uluwatu or walking around the streets of Ubud, Bali kept showing me beautiful sights, one after another.

Adventures: Thrills & Fun

My summer vacation was truly made by the exciting adventures that filled my days. Bali was the perfect place for heart-pounding fun and chill explorations. I pushed my limits by going paragliding, a rush that had my heart racing as I soared over stunning views.

Another adventure I won’t forget was snorkeling at Menjangan Island. The clear waters and colorful fish made it an amazing day. But it wasn’t all about the adrenaline. I also had deeper moments, like spending a day with a local family. Learning about their life and traditions touched my heart.

Every adventure, big or small, added to the rich story of my summer, mixing discovery, bravery, and loads of fun.

Cultural Immersion: A Vibrant Journey

Getting to know Bali’s culture was like stepping into a living museum full of traditions and customs. Every place had a new story and every person had a unique tradition to share. It was more than just a trip; it was a deep dive into a world alive with the beats of its history and today’s vibes.

Traditions Unveiled: Festivals and Celebrations

One of the highlights was joining in on a local festival in Bali. The atmosphere was filled with music, and the ground shook with the rhythm of dances. Everyone was in colorful traditional clothes, showing off their culture with happiness and pride. It was a beautiful sight that really showed the spirit of the community.

Heritage Explored: Landmarks and Legacies

Checking out places like the Uluwatu Temple took me way back in time. Each stone and old object seemed to whisper stories from long ago, about the people and events that made Bali what it is. This visit made me feel a strong connection to the place and its past.

Connection and Community: Shared Moments

The real heart of Bali was in the laughs and meals shared with locals. These times together went beyond any language or cultural differences, making friendships that added so much to my trip. It was in these simple but meaningful moments that my vacation turned into an unforgettable cultural journey.

Growth: Lessons Learned

This summer was more than a break; it was a journey of growth. Every day taught me something new, from navigating new places to overcoming language barriers, teaching me to be adaptable and resilient. Meeting different people widened my view of the world, boosting my empathy and understanding.

The challenges, from planning to unexpected adventures, built my confidence and problem-solving skills. This summer, I learned the value of embracing new experiences, the strength found in uncertain moments, and the joy of simple pleasures.

Conclusion: Lasting Impressions

As summer changed to fall, I realized my trip to Bali gave me more than just memories. It was full of new experiences, growth, and making friends. Bali is now an important part of my life story, marking a summer full of new chances. The lessons I learned and the friends I made there have really changed me, helping me see things differently and know myself better. The good times from this summer will guide me in the future, showing me how travel can really make a big difference in our lives.

My last holiday was a five-day trip to Prague in the Czech Republic. I know Prague well because I lived there when I was at university, more than ten years ago.

Instead of staying in a hotel, I stayed with one of my old friends. It was so much fun, and a little bit like my old life. I wanted to do all the same things I did in my university days, so I visited the university. It has changed a lot and looks more modern. I also went to the supermarket near my old house. I loved seeing all the different foods. I was really happy to find my favourite cheese and chocolate biscuits but they were a bit more expensive than I remember!

We did some touristy things too. We walked up beautiful Petrin Hill and around the castle. The views of the city are amazing up there. We walked across the historic Charles Bridge. My friend's flat is very near the TV Tower so we saw the famous baby statues climbing up it. Those things haven't changed, of course.

My last holiday was a two-day trip to Baguio in the Philippines. I had lived there before for five months. So I decided to go back for just a visit on my holiday. Unfortunately, there was heavily raining as we got off the bus. Otherwise, getting a taxi was super hard, and we were waiting for around an hour. Fortunately, I got home safely and I made so much fun with my friends. I visited the old places that I often did because it made me happy and refresh. In conclusion, I had so much fun spending my last holiday in Baguio.

I remember last year when I went with friend to the beach in summer. My Lastsummer holidays was 2days and 3 nights trip to Ngwe Saung Beach in Myanamr . Ngwe Saung, is a beach resort located 48 km west of Pathein, Ayeyarwady Region, Myanmar. In 2014, the town of Ngwesaung had 10,732 people. The beach is 5hours drive with no traffic away from the principal city of Yangon. Ngwe Saung is well know for An unspoilt 15 kilometres stretch of silvery sand and modern amenities have made Ngwe Saung a popular destination for less budget conscious tourists from Lower Myanmar. I booked for our stay at a hotel near the beach, name was "Grand Paradise Hotel ". My friend and i prepared everything we needed on our trip as light food and soft drinks to have on the way to the hotel. And also we prepared necessary clothing for the sea, sun cream and some essential medicines. After 5hours of driving we arrived the hotel at 12PM afternoon and went to our rooms to rest change clothes and take all what we need to go to the beach. This Hotel is near the beach, all services was good and room are cleaned, wide and nice. We put our bags on the table and went to swim in the sea and then went out for lunch that my friend ordered from a fish restaurant . The Crab ,Lobster and fish was fresh and tasty and we enjoyed our meal very much. After lunch we sat under the canopy enjoying the sea view, refreshing breaths ,listening to music and playing fun games. OH really nice Ngwe Saung beach Myanamr.

My last holiday was far away in time in different reasons. We were at black sea coast on September so there where not so much other people. We was drinking a wine that was cheap there and going some excursions

My last holiday. Last summer, in particular on the last weekend of June, I decided to visit Granada, an amazing city in Spain. I visited Granada for the second time with my family, my wife, and two daughters. I was so happy because I visited Granada sights, especially Alhambra Palace, and Civilization Museum. We arrived at the hotel by bus at 11 a.m. The hotel was wonderful and clean, and the food they offer was delicious. My family really liked the traditional typical dishes of Granada, in particular the dish named Baella. During the holiday, I met some of my Spanish colleagues and they invited us to visit their house which is located in a nice village in the city suburb. Really, I liked this place for the large landscape, calmness, and the kind people who live in. On the fifth day of our holiday, we walked around the city and saw the old city which has been built above the mountain. So, you can see the whole city from above it. Despite the enjoyment that we have got, the negative thing about that holiday was that we spent so much money and also many friends need to buy some things from there, so I bought some souvenirs and I hope that I can keep one for myself to remind of that divine place. By and large, this holiday was great and unforgettable thanks to my Spanish friend, Gaspar, who provided me with a Guidebook which makes my trip easy and coy.

My last holiday was four days on São Miguel dos Milagres with my family. We stay on the beach house of my grandpa. There is a pool, and four rooms in that. There we go to the beach, to some interesting restaurants, to a beach clube and to an ice cream shop. I love that travel and i'd love go back to São Miguel dos Milagres.

On the first weekend in March, we took an amazing trip to Barcelona. We went by train from Atocha station and the journey lasted two and a half hours.

When we arrived at the historic Barcelona Sants station, we took the metro to Plaza de Tetuan, which is where we had the apartment. We left our baggage and went to visit the city centre, Las Ramblas, Plaza Catalunya, La Boqueria Market, Paseo de Gracia, etc. On Sunday, we saw the beautiful Sagrada Familia which is my favourite landmark. Later, we went to the incredible Nou Camp stadium to see the Barça game against Valencia. After the game we visited the official store and did some shopping but everything was very expensive. On Monday, before returning to Madrid we went back to the Nou Camp to take a guided tour of the trophy room, changing rooms, benches, and the VIP box.

At the end, we went to the apartment to take the suitcases and so, we took the metro to the Sants station where we boarded the high speed train back to Madrid.

I go to Thailand for a camping holiday, It was fun I go caving on the first day, I see many bets are sleeping on top of the cave.(no time to finish)

Before 5 years, my sister and I went in a Euro trip. It was our first international trip together and we're beyond happy that it went well.

I planned the whole trip and to be honest I was quite nervous and anxious that something might go wrong. We visited 3 countries and 8 cities which were in our bucket list. Every place we visited has its own uniqueness; however, some cities just captivated our hearts, especially Paris, the city of light and love :).

Because we are food lovers, we tried to try as many dishes as we can. Some dishes touch our hearts before getting into our tummies, and croissant is my only example :D. I hope to visit more countries in the future with my sister and to make more memories together.

A place I have visited long before My last holiday was five days. I went with my cousin to Cappadocia in Turkey. We stayed at a cave hotel in Gorme village and it was amazing. We had a beautiful view over the all the caves. We did some touristy things too. In the first days we flown with balloon and we could see Cappadocia city. In the second days we went to the Open Museum so we could go inside the caves and to see how people lives at that time. Last days we walked about thirteen kilometers around the city and we visited the oldest castles in Cappadocia. We choose a different local restaurant every day. The food was delicious and cheap. I would like to go there again because that is a lot of things I want to see, and I recommend other people to go and see the magic city.

My last holiday was a five-day trip to Tbilisi the capital of Georgia. It was my first real holiday for last several years, usually I continue to work in my trips, but in this time I decided to not.

I went to this trip with my wife. We went by train. There was my first visit of Tbilisi but my wife was there a year before. So she knew all interesting places and sightseeings and showed me the city.

As it was my only holiday for the long time I don’t want to have a tight schedule and preferred spend it in chill way. I woke up without alarm had a breakfast slowly and then we decided where to go and what to do today.

We have visited some famous places as monument Mother of Georgia placed at the top of the mountain, some historical churches. We used old funicular to reach the top of another mountain with the amusement park. We walk a lot every day and explore almost every part of the city.

I really love restaurants in Tbilisi. We tried Italian, Japan, French and Georgian cosine. The food in Georgia is cheap and amazing!

It were five amazing days. I felt myself so relaxed and ready for new challenges at my job.

Essay on Last Vacation

Students are often asked to write an essay on Last Vacation in their schools and colleges. And if you’re also looking for the same, we have created 100-word, 250-word, and 500-word essays on the topic.

Let’s take a look…

100 Words Essay on Last Vacation

Introduction.

Last summer vacation was a wonderful experience. I visited my grandparents who live in a small village.

The Journey

The journey was long but exciting. We traveled by train, enjoying the beautiful landscapes.

In the village, I engaged in various activities like fishing, farming, and playing with my cousins.

Lessons Learned

I learned about rural life and the importance of community. It was a different, enriching experience.

This vacation was not just fun but also educational. I look forward to more such adventures in the future.

250 Words Essay on Last Vacation

Last vacation was an amalgamation of self-discovery, adventure, and tranquility. It was a journey that transcended the physical boundaries and delved deep into the realm of personal growth and understanding.

Destination: Isolation

I chose to escape the urban cacophony and immerse myself in the serene embrace of nature. My destination was a secluded cabin nestled in the heart of the Appalachian Mountains. The majestic mountains, the lush greenery, and the serene silence were an antithesis to the bustling city life.

Adventure: Conquering the Peaks

The vacation was not just about tranquility, but also about challenging myself. I embarked on several hiking trails, each presenting its own set of challenges and rewards. The strenuous climbs, the unpredictable weather, and the beautiful vistas provided a perfect blend of thrill and beauty.

Self-Discovery: The Inner Journey

Away from the distractions of modern life, I had the opportunity to introspect and engage in self-reflection. I revisited my goals, aspirations, and values, and found a renewed sense of purpose and direction. The solitude allowed me to connect with my inner self on a deeper level.

In retrospect, the vacation was not just a break from routine, but a journey of self-discovery and personal growth. It was an experience that taught me the importance of solitude, the thrill of adventure, and the value of introspection. This vacation was a testament to the fact that sometimes, the most profound journeys are the ones that lead inward.

500 Words Essay on Last Vacation

Last vacation was an extraordinary journey, a voyage of self-discovery and introspection that transcended the physical boundaries of travel. It was a time when I stepped away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life and dived deep into the tranquil ocean of solitude and contemplation.

Destination: The Heart of Nature

My destination was a secluded cabin nestled in the heart of a lush forest. The choice was deliberate; I wanted to trade the cacophony of city life for the symphony of nature. The forest was a living, breathing entity, pulsating with life, and it promised the serenity I sought.

The journey to the cabin was an adventure in itself. The path was not adorned with the conveniences of modern transportation; instead, it was a winding trail through the dense woods. The challenges of the trek, however, were a small price to pay for the reward that awaited. The journey was a metaphorical representation of the journey we undertake in life, filled with obstacles yet leading to rewarding destinations.

Life in Solitude

The days spent in solitude were a stark contrast to my usual routine. There were no deadlines to chase, no emails to respond to, and no social media notifications to distract me. The only sounds were the rustling leaves, the chirping birds, and the soothing whispers of the wind. This solitude gave me a chance to reconnect with myself, to introspect, and to explore the depths of my thoughts and emotions.

Learning from Nature

Living close to nature was an enlightening experience. Observing the harmony in nature, the synchronicity of life forms, the cycles of birth and death, and the resilience of life under adverse conditions, I learned invaluable lessons. I realized how we, as humans, are an integral part of this magnificent web of life and how our actions impact this delicate balance.

My last vacation was not just a break from routine; it was a transformative journey that enriched me with profound insights. It was a reminder of the importance of slowing down, of appreciating the simple pleasures of life, and of nurturing our connection with nature. It taught me that sometimes, the most meaningful journeys are not those that take us to new geographical locations, but those that lead us to discover our inner selves.

This vacation was a testament to the idea that travel is not just about visiting new places but about experiencing new perspectives. It’s about stepping out of our comfort zones, embracing new experiences, and growing as individuals. It’s about finding ourselves amidst the vastness of the universe and understanding our place within it. In the end, the essence of travel is beautifully encapsulated in the words of T.S. Eliot: “We shall not cease from exploration, and the end of all our exploring will be to arrive where we started and know the place for the first time.”

That’s it! I hope the essay helped you.

Summertime is the most awaited time of any student’s life . It gives them a break from the scorching sun and blazing heat. The summer months are quite hot, however, students love them because they bring a sense of calmness due to the vacations. It frees them from the monotonous and dull routine of school and studies.

How I Spent My Summer Vacation

Most importantly, summer vacations give us a chance to explore new things. We can adopt new hobbies like painting, dancing, singing and more during this time. Furthermore, it gives us a chance to visit our grandparents or to someplace abroad. Summer vacations bring all types of fun, however, these particular summer vacations were the most memorable for me. My parents made me join a summer camp which was too much fun and then we visited our grandparents’ place.

Summer Camp

As the first day of my summer vacations started, I started getting bored easily. Mostly so because all my friends had gone to someplace or the other. My parents noticed this and decided to send me to a summer camp. Our school itself was organizing one in which my parents got me enrolled.

At first, I thought it would be of no use and would be equally boring. However, to my surprise, I was wrong. The summer camp was one of the best experiences of my life. I got the chance to indulge in so many activities and in fact, it was the first time where I discovered my talent for painting.

We got up early in the morning at 7 o’clock, despite no school. We had trainers who would teach us different things each day. On the first day, I got to learn karate, which was very amusing and helpful. Further, I learned how to play sports like basketball , table tennis, and volleyball.

Finally, came my most awaited part. We were taught painting and unique tips to master this art. I learned it quickly and started enjoying painting. My passion for painting began from this summer camp , and I will forever be indebted to it.

My Grandparents’ Place

After my summer camp ended, my whole family decided to visit my grandparent’s village . It is situated away from the city and is full of lush and greenery. I love spending time with my grandparents so I was very excited to visit their village.

We stayed there for over two weeks, and that throughout that time, I was at my best behavior. I used to get up at 7 o’clock in the morning to take a stroll with my grandfather. Then all the family members would get together to have breakfast full of healthy things and fresh fruits from the farm nearby.

In the evening, we would sit by our grandmother’s bed and listen to stories. Then, my siblings and I used to go to the terrace and play games. We would also gaze at their stars all night, as we did not get that in the city.

Winter Vacation Essay for Students - 100, 200, 500 Words

The typical length of a winter vacation is 15 days to a month, which includes the two major holidays of Christmas and New Year. The holiday season is therefore bursting with festival flavours.

200 Words Essay On Winter Vacation

During these holidays, many families prepare for vacations to nearby locations.

Family Trips

On family trips, individuals frequently search for places with snowfall. Due to how brief the winter vacation is in comparison to the summer breaks, this excursion is typically short. Additionally, the areas are very congested around this period. Hence, reservations for hotels and a sightseeing list are made well in advance.

Everybody enjoys going on a family vacation over the holidays. Families, therefore, always favour a local location where they may unwind and enjoy themselves. Additionally, this season, the crowds at popular tourist locations prevent families from trying a different area.

Family Time

During the typical school days, I am seldom able to spend any time with my family because I am so busy with my schoolwork, coaching classes, and other activities. It has been a while since I sat with my grandparents and heard their fascinating tales. I want to spend a lot of time with them during the holidays. Additionally, my younger sister constantly wants to play with me, so I want to do that. I also do my best to assist my mother with jobs around the house. The holidays like Christmas and New Year's are wonderful occasions to enjoy during the winter break.

500 Words Essay On Winter Vacation

A vacation allows students to take a break from their typical study routine at school. All the students have a good time and celebrate. The students are given two holidays: the summer and the winter. Even though winter breaks are brief, they give us an excellent opportunity to spend time with our loved ones.

Joy Of Winter Season

Many of us enjoy winter. Since it's my favourite season, I eagerly anticipate its arrival. The winter getaways offered during this season increase my enjoyment of winter. Since the winter break was so brief, my family had no travel plans. I adore spending my holiday at home. We can sleep in until the wee hours of the morning during holidays. We also like to eat a variety of hot wintertime foods.

Activities For Winter Vacation

Developing a new hobby | The youngster can plan to master new skills. Taekwondo, drawing, singing, picking up a musical instrument, taking a dancing class, or any other activity could qualify. Whatever you decide to do, make sure to understand it fully!

Do something that will change your life | During the break, insist that your child visit a nursing home or a school for people with disabilities. Let them go there and discover stuff. Your little child will ask you many questions. But do respond to each patient. Let's raise some extremely decent little people!

Go all out in your city | Learn about the city's must-see locations. Could you list everything? Make an effort to get there daily. Know the history and culture in your town.

Students usually await the winter vacations as it indulges them in a lot of fun stuff during the break. Although it is a time of holiday and the mood is relaxing, it is important to not skip studying during this time period.

My Winter Vacation

I make many plans for these vacations and make the most of them. Christmas, one of my favourite holidays, marks the traditional start of our winter vacations. I, therefore, begin my vacations by shopping for Christmas. My mother and I go to the neighbourhood markets to purchase ornaments and festive lights for my Christmas tree. My brother and I decorate the Christmas tree and enjoy seeing it light up.

We visit our cousins during the holidays so we can spend a few days together. I enjoy spending time with my cousins. Together, we had a terrific time. My mother also ensures that we study for at least two hours each day to prepare for the upcoming examinations.

New Year's also falls during the winter break. We are having a little gathering and inviting our close friends and family. Overall, winter break is a time for gatherings with friends, family, and relatives and many festivities. I merely adore it.

I want to go back there every winter vacation because it has become a permanent memory in my head. I liked being around my uncle's kids. Even now, the memory of the place and the flavour of the cuisine still makes me happy.

Essay on Winter Vacation

24th December marks the beginning of winter vacation for school students, which is a time of joy and celebration with friends and families. Winter vacation usually lasts for 2 to 3 weeks for elementary students, where they actively participate and vibe in Christmas and New Year shopping and celebrations. Students are excited about their Christmas presents, hoping Santa will gift them their favourite toys, such as racing cars, barbie dolls, gaming consoles, etc.

However, once the winter vacations are over and schools resume, you will have to write an essay on winter vacation as part of your academics, where you are required to share your experiences, how you spent your time, ways of celebration, what was there on your shopping lists or where did you go for a trip, etc. Today, we are delighted to present some sample essays on winter vacation which will provide students with different ideas.

Essay on Winter Vacation in 150 Words

‘My winter vacation started right after Christmas, which was a two-week long vacation. Winter Vacation is my favourite time of the year, as we go New Year shopping, plan a trip to a hill station, and enjoy feasts like homemade cakes, cookies, pastries sweets, etc. On this winter vacation, I went to the city market to buy winter clothes with my parents. My father bought a denim jeans and a dungarees jacket for me, as were planning a trip to Mussoorie, the famous hill station.

Before me and my family left for our winter vacation trip, I completed all my winter homework and school assignments, so that I don’t have to worry about them after returning from our vacation. I took my brother’s help with mathematics homework and completed the remaining homework myself.

After that, we went on a 4-day family trip to Mussoorie, where we had quality time and played a lot. We were lucky enough to witness snowfall and my brother made a large snowman and snowballs and played for hours. Later, we went back to the hotel, where we had our tasty lunch and a bonfire. This was my this year’s winter vacation, which was full of excitement and surprises.’

Essay on Winter Vacation in 300 Words

‘Winter and summer vacations are my favourite time of the year, as we are free from academic pressure and don’t have to worry about school for the next couple of weeks. This year, my winter vacation started with an exciting activity, as I attended a wedding with my family in a different city. It was a short un-planned family trip where we had a lot of fun. Me and sister were excited to dine out at a highway restaurant, which was one of the memorable moments of my winter vacation. On our way to the wedding, I and my sister requested our father to stop at a highway restaurant, as were hungry.

Me and my sister ate a pizza and ice cream. After finishing our food, we were back on our way to the wedding. We greeted all our relatives and some of them gave us gifts. After returning from the wedding, I and my sister wanted to work on extracurricular activities, so our father enrolled us in dance classes. For the next 10 days, we were continuously working on our dancing skills, which was physically exhausting but interesting. As soon as we hit the dance floor, all we could do was wave our hands in the air and vibe with the music.

Another fun activity I did during this winter vacation was helping my mother with household chores. Our family has a custom of making Gajar ka Halwa every winter. I wanted to learn from my mother how it is prepared and the ingredients she uses to make it. Gajar ka halwa is one of my favourite sweets. Eating Gajar ka Halwa on a chilled January morning is one of my loving memories. I wish I could enjoy I little more of those family moments, where there is no school pressure, just fun and love. Now, I will plan for next year’s winter vacations, where me and my family can have a great time together.’
